2026 News - Autumn Term.

The end of Summer School marks the new aikido year for me. I've spent the week following summer school resting and healing. You usually pick up some bruises and prangs during the week. This year I picked up a 'niggle' in my lower back from an rooky error on my ukemi (even at my age and level you can make mistakes); a wrist sprain from an over enthusiastic koshinage during a grading - I was uke, he was grading - thanks Yannic!!

Resting and healing means light walking, stretches and some wild swimming (cold therapy), whilst getting my head organised for the upcoming year. 2027 is going to be a training intense year as am going for my 4th Dan and Paul is going for his 1st. I have the other kyu grades development to consider as well as consideration for recruitment as our membership has dropped off over the year.

Recruitment is always hit and miss where this year am considering restarting a junior section again, but will see. Am going to try some conventional marketing before I consider next steps.

Am looking forward to what this next year promises.

Osu!

Sensei Marc.
